In Her Own Words...

I leave my public housing apartment every morning at 6:30 AM so that I can drop off my three-year-old at daycare and my six-year-old at school before arriving at the Educational Opportunity Center at 8:30 AM.

I enjoy walking into the computer lab and sitting in front of a brand new computer to check my e-mail. It's an important day. Yesterday I e-mailed four resumes to potential employers and I'm hoping I got a "hit." If it's not today, that's okay, because I know it's going to happen.

After checking my e-mail, I return to the next chapter in the Employability Skills Series software. I finish the chapter quiz and learn right away that I got a score of 95%.

Do I want to go onto the next chapter? Begin a new software series? Today, I think I'll choose "You Can Make It Happen", an online interactive Life Skills program produced and narrated by Stedman Graham.

I can't believe how much my life has changed in just the past six months because of this program. There are so many more opportunities for me now.
